DataMerch costs $695 a month on the Basic plan and $945 a month on the Pro plan, per organization, with unlimited users, monthly billing and no long-term contract. Those are the figures on DataMerch's own pricing page, verified October 2026. At 300 submissions a month that is about $2.32 a screened deal on Basic and $3.15 on Pro. What the fee buys is access to records other funders reported. It does not show you the merchant's current positions, which still have to come from the bank statements.

DataMerch is the shared database the merchant cash advance industry built in 2015 to stop funders from repeating each other's losses. Members search a merchant by EIN or legal name and see records filed by other members: defaults, suspicious activity, slow pay, split payers, stacking history and satisfied defaults. Below is what each plan includes, what the price works out to per deal, the costs that are not on the pricing page, and how it fits next to a statement review.

One correction worth making, because it circulates in search summaries: the Pro plan does not limit you to 25 searches a day. The 25 is the number of matches a legal name search returns. Pro has no daily search cap at all.

What DataMerch used to cost

A funder on the DailyFunder forum quoted DataMerch at $495 a month in February 2021. Today's entry price is $695, so the Basic plan is about 40% higher than that forum figure, and Pro sits another $250 above it. The forum number is one member's post, not a published rate card, but it is a useful sanity check if you are renewing a budget built a few years ago.

Cost per screened deal

Because the fee is flat, the price per deal falls quickly with volume. Here is the arithmetic on the published prices, counting one search per submission.

Submissions a monthBasic, per submissionPro, per submission
100$6.95$9.45
300$2.32$3.15
1,000$0.70$0.95
3,000$0.23$0.32

For a shop funding a few hundred deals a month, $695 is small next to a single default. That is the case for paying it, and most funders who are members say exactly that. For a new funder or a small ISO doing 50 submissions a month, it is $13.90 a search before anything else in the file has been checked, which is why smaller shops often look for a cheaper first screen.

The costs that are not on the pricing page

Participation is part of the price

DataMerch states that participation is required. Members are expected to enter records on merchants they have funded, through the web portal or the API. That is how the database stays useful, but it means someone on your team spends time filing records, and your own portfolio becomes part of what other members see. Factor that into the real cost, especially if you fund a narrow niche and would rather not publish your book.

Access is approved, not instant

The sign-up form asks for a funder or company name and a website, and DataMerch reviews each request before granting access. Brokers have used it, but if you are an ISO or a lender outside MCA, expect a review step rather than a card checkout.

Declines on records you cannot verify

In an August 2023 thread titled "DataMerch - Fake Banks", a funder with 13 years in the industry described a rising number of merchants coming back with fraudulent or manipulated bank statement records, then logging into one of those merchants' accounts and finding every statement accurate, "the eighth time this month". Another member described a merchant flagged by other funders after the bank had faxed the statements directly. A record is a signal from another funder, not proof. Every deal you decline on a record that turns out to be wrong is lost revenue, and it never shows up on an invoice.

What $695 a month does not buy

DataMerch only knows what members chose to report, usually after something went wrong. A merchant who took two new advances last month and has not missed a payment yet comes back clean. So does stacking with funders who are not members. That current picture lives in the bank statements: each open advance is a recurring daily or weekly ACH debit, each new funding is a deposit, and every NSF and negative day is printed on the page.

That is the gap a loan stacking detection tool fills. LenderAnalyzer reads three to six months of statements in minutes, lists each advance-style position with its payment amount and dates, counts the positions repaid at the same time, and reports the combined daily debit the open ones take. It also reconciles every statement against its printed running balance, so an edited statement is flagged by the arithmetic rather than by someone else's record. Plans start at $99 a month flat. Is DataMerch Basic or Pro the right plan?

Basic covers most funders. Three thousand searches a day is far more than a typical shop runs, the Merchant Scrubber handles bulk EIN lists, and limited API access is enough to check a merchant at intake. Pro earns its extra $250 a month in three situations: you want every application scrubbed automatically through the full API, you want an email when a new record lands on a merchant you already funded, or you buy deals from many ISOs and want to see which one submitted a merchant elsewhere. If none of those apply, Basic is the plan.

Whichever plan you choose, budget the screen as part of the cost of getting a deal to a decision. ISOs already pay for every merchant they reach, whether through lead lists, cold email outreach or referral partners, and a declined submission wastes all of it. A cheap, fast statement check before the file reaches an underwriter keeps that waste down whether or not you are a DataMerch member. Our MCA underwriting software page shows how that check fits into the rest of the file.

DataMerch pricing questions

How much does DataMerch cost?

DataMerch costs $695 a month for the Basic plan and $945 a month for the Pro plan. Both are priced per organization with unlimited users, billed monthly, with no long-term contract. Basic includes up to 3,000 searches a day and limited API access; Pro adds unlimited searches, full API access, merchant subscriptions and submission source data.

Is DataMerch worth it?

For a funder doing a few hundred deals a month, usually yes, because one avoided default covers years of fees. For a small ISO or new funder, $695 a month is a high price per search, and the database still misses recent stacking that has not been reported. Those shops often start with a statement review and add DataMerch as volume grows.

Does DataMerch have a free trial?

DataMerch's pricing page does not list a free trial. It does offer monthly billing with no long-term contract and says you can cancel at any time from your dashboard, so the practical trial is a single paid month. Access also requires DataMerch to approve your sign-up request first.

Can you cancel DataMerch at any time?

Yes. DataMerch says there are no long-term contracts and that members can cancel from their dashboard at any time, and can switch between Basic and Pro with the change taking effect immediately.

Does DataMerch show MCA stacking?

Only stacking that a member has reported, under its Stacking History record type. Current stacking that nobody has filed yet does not appear. To see every open position, read the recurring ACH debits on the merchant's bank statements, which stacking detection software does automatically.
